hi leanne!

these are from dean and deluca in georgetown. they have beautiful flowers but they are so overpriced.

come spring time the best place to buy flowers is at the farmer's market.

there are also a few nurseries outside of the city -behnkes (in potomac and college park, md) and farmhouse flowers and plants (in brookeville,md)

thank you! i live right by dean and deluca but haven't checked out the flowers in awhile. i can't wait to visit the nurseries in a few weeks. perhaps the snow is about finished.

If you're interested in a lovely flower shop in DC, you should check out Park Florist in downtown Takoma Park. Not to give a plug, but I am one of the designers there, 29 yr-old hip woman, and we are the only eco-friendly flower shop in DC. We're wind-powered, strive to use local and sustainably grown flowers as much as possible, and our owners are simply beautiful people. We do mainstream design, as well as our own conceptual work, which is preferred by us. Please, check us out! - Margaret
