papa's hands

papa is 84 years old. he keeps himself busy creating simple pieces of wooden furniture. in this photo, he was a bit tired and took a little break from the woodwork, but he radiated such a sense of fulfillment. it feels so good to create with your own hands.

handmade.

i just love that word. uneven textures. crooked lines. imperfection. care + love. these are all the things that come to mind. i really like this idea of making and giving handmade for the holidays [via michelle].
